Disappointment For Team GB Divers

The British pair of Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield finished in fourth place in the final of the synchronised 10m platform event at the Aqautics Centre. There had been so much hope for them prior to the competition however they will both be focusing on the individual event this forthcoming weekend.

Daley, 18, and Waterfield, 31, made a superb start after leading at the halfway mark ahead of the Chinese duo of Yuan Cao and  Yanquan Zhang. Unfortunately for Team GB, a poor fourth dive cost them their chances of finishing on the medal podium as they dropped to fourth place.

Cao and Zhang took the gold medal for China after a tremendous diving display who are both younger than Tom Daley at 17 and 18 respectively. They scored a total of 486.78 points from their six dives which their gold medals add to the victory of the World Series events in Beijing and Moscow earlier this year. Mexico's Ivan Garcia Navarro and German Sanchez Sanchez took the silver with an impressive final dive while the American pair of Nicholas McCrory and David Boudia finished with a bronze medal to their names.
